WHY JOIN WEAVING THREADS?

Weaving Threads clinicians gain access to specialized knowledge in a unique area of service.  There is no other adoption training in the U.S. that provides the breadth or depth of training in issues specific to those of the first mother.   Additionally, this training is FREE of charge. 

Weaving Threads therapists can:

• Develop expertise with a unique and underserved population.
• Have access to a community of providers who are passionate about the welfare of all parties in adoption. 
• Be recognized on our website.
• Become a referral source for adoption professionals needing access to trained therapists.

Weaving Threads welcomes licensed therapists to participate in a comprehensive therapeutic program developed for women who have placed a child for adoption.  Joining our program involves the following:

• A commitment to take one first/birthmother into your practice for either no or low fee depending on her circumstances and to continue to work with her for as long as you both agree is needed.
• Attending a training module which will be a 1-2 day intensive exploration of all aspects of adoption with a focus on the needs of the first/birthmother population.
• Therapists attend a monthly consultation group led by experienced WT therapists.
